Tomorrow we leave for the mountains up north again - this time for 2 months. Can I be super honest with you? I really don't want to go. Sure, I am excited by all that God is doing up there, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that there is where God wants us for these next couple months. I know that this is incredibly shallow - but I am going to miss our creature comforts. I am going to miss our comfortable bed, our washing machine, hot showers, our privacy, running water, regular electricity, internet (FB & email), our sanitized, screen-inned house, bookshelves and desks for the kids' school, pre-filtered water, nearby grocery store & restaurants... The list could go on and on. I know that I am being silly - what do those things matter in the grand scheme of things? And I know that we are still going to have a cushy life compared to how millions in the world live everyday. Suffering for the cause? NOTHING compared to what other believers go through on a daily basis to share their faith. But even still, I would appreciate your prayers for us as we go. It will be a LONG 20+ hr trip up there, and our schedule there will be grueling. Pls pray for endurance and good health, that God would work mightily in hearts as Steve teaches 6+ days a week, and that God would work in MY heart as well so that I would be content and just enjoy the adventure that He is leading us on.

Praying for you. I appreciate your honesty. God will honor your obedience to His calling. We pray God will bring you joy in the journey!
So thankful that you share with us. We're praying for you guys!
I am sure most of us would feel the same way - who doesn't want to live comfortably? I will be praying for you (and for the whole family).
Praying for you!! Thanks for sharing.... :)
Will be praying that the joys of seeing God at work will outweigh the discomfort. Love you guys and are blessed and honored to be your friends. Just miss you like crazy though!!
What? You're human? AH! Thanks for sharing- I'm praying for you- every day as I brush my teeth! Much love!!
Hey Jen! We received your prayer calendar and it's up and running, so to speak. ;) It's been on my heart to start intentionally praying for your family on a consistent basis. So I'm so thankful for this calendar! I just spent a little time on your blog too, and have bookmarked it. Between the two, I feel able to pray for very specific things for you all. Was also wondering if you could give me a rundown of birthdays for each of you (years included). Thanks! We love you. ps-you guys ARE crazy with the ocean wakeboarding. I can't wait to show Ryan that on your blog! Awesome.
Hi dear friend, haven't done much on the comp lately and just now saw your blog. I sooo appreciate and love your honesty in this post. We have your calendar on our kitchen counter and have been praying for you guys each day. Love you all. So excited to hear your updates on what God did during these weeks.
sigh, these pictures make me wanna live there!
I'd be exactly the same way- actually, I am! Hating to be inconvenienced and really living in the elements....one thing I just thought of...Jesus said whoever gives up father or mother, or other things, will be repaid so much more than you could ever imagine...
Whoever gives his life will find it. I think you guys are brave and tired and courageous and honest and I love you. Will be praying for you even more.
