After our time at the training center with our tribal partners, on our way home, we took a couple days at the beach with the friends who had traveled with us. We had actually planned to go to another beach resort that our family enjoys, but it was leveled by the typhoon, so we had to find a "plan b" beach. We had a blast in spite of the unexpected change of plans!
A little boogie boarding...
A little surfing...
And Steve and Zach even got to take some kiteboarding lessons!
Normally, in order to try the kiteboarding, you have to sign on for 3 full days of lessons, but we didn't have that much time. Steve talked one guy into teaching them and just see how far they could get in 2 half days...he (and they!) were thrilled at how quickly they picked it up. By the end, they were able to ride a little in a calmer bay area. They had fun, but decided they prefer to not be so dependent on perfect wind/wave conditions - wakeboarding is more their speed!
And we ended with some rugby on the beach at sunset. I (Jen) even played for a while. :)
It was a great couple days before we got back into the craziness of school for the kids and me and more travel for Steve. Thankful for breaks...especially when they are on the beach!
