On the Road - and a Close Call!

Just wanted to post a quick note to let you all know that we are currently on the road. We have been traveling for a week now and will be heading home on November 15th. Don't know if the bomb at a local mall here in Manila last week made news on your side of the world or not, but we praise God for His protection as our family missed being in that exact spot by less than 15 mins. He used an all-night ER visit the night before as well as being lost in the city at 3am to change our plans for the day; we left the mall just minutes before the bomb went off. Also, we had not driven (because of being lost the night before) so we did not walk through that area to get to the parking lot. Instead we jumped in a cab and left the mall just before it happened. We praise God for His protection of our family. Please join us in praying for the 10 people who died in the blast as well as the 130 who were injured.
We just returned to Manila from a trip up into the tribe where I (Jen) grew up about 20 hours north of our home in Bicol. The next stop is the beach for some vacation time with Steve's parents. Then on Nov 6, Steve will be having outpatient hand surgery. Then on Nov 11, he and I will be going to Singapore to have my wrist looked at by the specialist there to determine the next course of action since I am still in a lot of pain (injured it in March for those of you who don't know). Anyway, we appreciate your prayers as we travel and praise Him with us for His protection last week!

I had no idea about the bomb. What an awesome God we serve.

I can't believe your wrist is still hurting you. I hope the drs can figure it out soon.

Glad to know you've made it back to civilization! ha ha

I've been thanking God everyday for keeping you guys safe. I still can't believe you were that close. So what's the story on the ER visit? You haven't filled me in on that one yet. Just text me when you have a chance.

Miss you guys here. Looking forward to your return. Keep in touch!

Wow, I'm glad you guys are okay. I did read about the bombing, and the first thing I did was to check and see if it was at the mall we went to with the five of you. Each day is a gift.
